Scissor training on different heads (poodle, schnauzer, westie, doodle) and scissor techniques

3 days of pure happiness; This scissor training will take place at Complexe Canin du Saguenay !

Hello and welcome to you at l'Art au Poil !

Here are the details :

I want to take you one step further, one step at a time, in the grooming of heads of different breeds with your scissors. This is the objective of this course. In addition, I will give you a simple and logical methodology that will allow you to make heads in steps no matter the model.

I give you the keys to the success of a beautiful head and a beautiful face according to the anatomy of the dog.

Whether you are an expert, self-taught or a beginner in the profession, you will learn the essential notions to make beautiful heads according to the breed standard. Course notes will be given to you on the spot and you will receive by email the Asian Heads file on the second day of the course.

Also, you will learn how to choose sissors made for you, the proper handling of the sissors, maintenance, adjustment, which blades to have for finishing, which tools are the most efficient to make beautiful finishes, etc.

Before the course, you have to brush and prepare your fur (be careful not to tear the fabric); brush your fur with a detangling brush (pooch) and check if it goes well through with your comb.

The course must be paid entirely prior to the class in order to participate. The fee is to cover your purchase of 5 complete furs + 1 model dog and 4 different heads. This package is 205$+ tx (manufacturer's cost) then 225$ per day of training.

I limit the number of students to 6 because I only have 6 workstations. In case of justified absence (medical paper only) you will be able to reuse your credit on another course. Regardless of the reason for absence, the course is not refundable. Absent students take the place of a potential student and many would have liked to participate in this training but it is complete with each of you.

TOOLS TO BRING WITH YOU :

  • straight scissors, slimming scissors (curved scissors not mandatory but recommended)*.

*check that your scissors are sharp and cut well

  • your corded and cordless razors with your blades (bring a #4F, #5F, #7F, a #30 and a #10). If you have 2 of each blade it's even better in case one of them doesn't cut well.

  • metal adapters (ideally not plastic) that go with each razor and your 5-in-1 blade for the small cordless razor and or the #30

  • Your work shirt

  • Your lunch

  • your brushes and combs

  • masks if you are sensitive to synthetic hair

  • For the first day: the untangled head and schnauzer's body with its eyes and nose already in place.

On site, in limited quantities, there may be scissors for sale (thinners, straight, curved, small scissors), a few detangling brushes, and finishing combs and then a few blades including the famous Wahl 5-in-1. I only keep a small inventory so I don't have enough for everyone.

If you wish to purchase these tools at a good price, you will have to pay them in full when you receive the invoice.

A small snack (muffins, croissants) will be served in the morning with coffee and/or tea and water. There is a fridge on site and a microwave to heat up your lunch.

A great learning program on the horizon. Practice ++, observation time, a little theory, simple and practical instructions, in short, fun !

Thank you for your beautiful collaboration to do good for the animals !
